Itsaso Kobayashi, DVM

Surgical Resident

Dr. Kobayashi grew up in northern New Jersey and attended Rutgers University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. During her undergraduate years, she gained hands-on experience working in both general small animal practice and a tertiary care hospital.

She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, completing her clinical year at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Kobayashi completed a small animal rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, in 2023, where her passion for small animal surgery truly flourished.

She further honed her skills through surgical internships at both Garden State Veterinary Specialists and Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists (CVSS). Following her surgical internship at CVSS, she began a three-year surgical residency with CVSS in 2025.  Dr. Kobayashi takes pride in providing compassionate, attentive care to her patients and is dedicated to their well-being.

Outside of work, Dr. Kobayashi enjoys spending time outdoors, as well as being with friends and family, traveling, and exploring the Baltimore-Washington area.
