Elisabeth (Lis) Moore, DVM

Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons – Small Animal

Dr. Moore grew up in Atlanta, GA where she started her career in veterinary medicine as a technician. In 2009 she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Brooklyn College. During her time in New York City she volunteered with the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) in Upper Manhattan.

Dr. Moore moved to California and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Western University of Health Sciences in 2014. She received the Service Award for recognition for her outstanding service to the betterment of the veterinary profession, the welfare of animals, and society. Moving back to the east coast after graduation, she completed a one-year rotating internship at VCA SouthPaws Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Center in Fairfax, VA. In 2015 Dr. Moore joined Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists (CVSS) for a one-year surgical internship. Upon completion, she accepted a three-year surgical residency with CVSS. She completed her surgical residency in June 2019 and remained on staff with CVSS. In 2020 she became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Her professional memberships include the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS), Veterinary Orthopedic Society (VOS), Society of Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgery (SVSTS), Veterinary Society of Surgical Oncology (VSSO), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), Maryland Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA), and the Anne Arundel Veterinary Medical Association (AAVMA).

Dr. Moore and her husband (who is active duty Army) are happy to be currently located in Annapolis, MD. They share their home with a sweet scruffy terrier rescue named Bandit.
