Katie McClain, DVM, CCRP

Katie McClain, DVM, CCRP grew up in Indianapolis and attended Purdue University for both undergraduate and Veterinary school. She then spent the next 7 years practicing both general practice and emergency medicine in multiple states as her husband continued his internship and residency training in equine surgery.

Dr. McClain’s love for rehabilitation and physical therapy came from her childhood years of competitive gymnastics. Being able to apply the art of therapy, exercise, and core strengthening with her love of canine and feline patients soon became a dream she pursued. Dr. McClain attended the University of Tennessee’s Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner program and completed her certification (CCRP) in 2018. She most recently completed the small animal acupuncture course at the Chi Institute of Veterinary Medicine in Reddick, FL in 2022 and will soon be certified as a veterinary acupuncturist to further benefit her patients. Dr. McClain is excited to offer integrative medicine to her patients to better improve their quality of life and reduce pain through a multi-modal approach. Her favorite aspect of canine rehabilitation is the bond she is able to form with her patients and clients and being a part of their journey in healing and regaining mobility.

Dr. McClain is extremely excited to join the CVSS Rehabilitation team and further her studying in canine rehabilitation to further improve the lives of her patients!

Dr. McClain and her family are excited to be back on the East coast. She enjoys spending time with her family camping, hiking & being outdoors. Along with her two kids, Wiley and Gemma, she has two dogs (Bentley and Baylee), three cats (Cali, O’Malley, Izzy), and a bunny (Hamilton).
