Minimally Invasive Surgery


The surgical team at CVSS performs minimally-invasive surgery as an alternative for many surgeries that were traditionally performed openly. Minimally-invasive surgeries utilizes specialized surgical equipment and techniques to operate on your pet while causing a reduced amount of disruption to the body. This allows our surgeons to make smaller incisions and utilize cameras and instruments to perform the surgery. The benefits of minimally-invasive procedures include (for some, but not all pets): lower risk of infection, less time under general anesthesia, less body trauma resulting in lower pain levels, reduced blood loss and minimal scarring. Hospitalization and recovery times are typically shorter.
