Elisabeth Fox, DVM
Surgical Resident
Dr. Fox grew up locally in the Annapolis area, graduating from Broadneck Senior High School in 2008. She completed her undergraduate degrees at the University of Maryland, College Park, with a B.S. in Animal and Avian Sciences and a B.A. in Studio Art. Following graduation, she worked full-time as a veterinary surgical scrub nurse in Fairfax, Virginia for several years and obtained her associate’s degree in veterinary technology through Penn Foster College.
Dr. Fox attended veterinary school at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies and completed her clinical year at the University of Missouri. Her passion for surgery continued throughout vet school while working in specialty surgery and anesthesia as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) during semester breaks. After veterinary school graduation, she completed a rotating internship at the University of Missouri and a surgical internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, DC.
In 2023, Dr. Fox returned home to the Maryland area and completed a one-year surgical internship with Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists (CVSS). Following her surgical internship, she began a three-year surgical residency with CVSS in 2024. She is very excited to continue her specialty surgery training in her hometown at CVSS!
Dr. Fox loves all elements of surgery, with strong interests in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. She is currently in the final stages of completing her certification as a companion animal rehabilitation therapist (CCAT) and has pursued several research projects in veterinary orthopedics and sports medicine. Dr. Fox has published research in the journal of Veterinary Comparative Orthopaedics Traumatology (VCOT), the journal Veterinary Evidence, and has presented abstracts at the Veterinary Orthopedic Society conferences, the World Veterinary Orthopaedic Congress, and the American College of Veterinary Surgeons summits.
When not at work, Dr. Fox enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her additional hobbies include yoga, spin class, traveling, and exploring new restaurants. Dr. Fox has two cats, Alexander and Ariel, who are both orange and feral kitten rescues.
