Robert Weeren, DVM, MS

Dr. Weeren obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami in 1982. In 1987 he received the American Hospital Animal Association Senior Student Award and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Florida. He completed a one-year rotating internship locally at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, DC, in 1988.
Dr. Weeren completed his surgical residency program and received the Residency Teaching Award at The Ohio State University in 1992. He became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) after sitting the certifying exam in 1995. Dr. Weeren joined Chesapeake Veterinary surgical Specialists (CVSS) in April 2000 after spending seven years practicing at Veterinary Specialists of South Florida. Dr. Weeren serves as the chief of staff for CVSS in our Towson office.
His professional memberships include the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS); the Veterinary Orthopedic Society (VOS); the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA); the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA); and the Anne Arundel Veterinary Medical Association (AAVMA). He has lectured nationally and locally, and is presently on the Credentialing Committee for ACVS.
Dr. Weeren resides with his wife and two daughters in Baltimore County. Their household is home to 4 dogs and two cats. Dr. Weeren is an avid diver who enjoys teaching scuba diving at a local dive shop. He also enjoys deep water and fly-fishing, as well as spending time with his family.
