Dayna Middlestead, DVM, Surgical Resident

Dr. Middlestead grew up in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. She started her career in veterinary medicine as a Certified Veterinary Technician after graduating from Harcum Collage, in Bryn Mawr PA. Her interest in small animal surgery grew during her practicum, at which time she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from West Chester University.

Dr. Middlestead attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, located in the lovely St. Kitts, and completed her clinical year at University of Missouri, graduating in 2015. Following graduation, she completed a one-year small animal medicine and surgery internship at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolines, located in Cary NC. In 2016, she relocated to Maryland, where she completed a one- year small animal surgical internship with Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists (CVSS), rotating between the Towson and Annapolis offices. Upon completion of the internship, she accepted a surgical residency with CVSS and is currently in her first year.

During her “free” time, Dr. Middlestead enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Chooch (Bullmastiff/Rottweiler) and Willow (Scruffy mutt). She also enjoys visiting the quiet beaches of Lewes, Delaware with her family.
