Janet Roa, OTR/L, BCN, CCRP
Janet graduated with her degree in Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University in 1990. She was drawn to the challenge of the neurologically impaired patient, which led her to attain her board certification in neuro-rehabilitation from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). She eventually became the senior OT for Shock Trauma at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore where she worked for over 10 years and specialized in splinting and the critically injured.
Janet’s first exposure to canine rehab came in 2015 after 25 years as a practicing occupational therapist. She began her studies through the University of Tennessee’s Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner program. She completed her Canine Clinical residency at CVSS in Annapolis, receiving her credentials (CCRP) in 2016.
Janet continues to practice Occupational Therapy as well as canine rehabilitation. She lives in downtown Baltimore with her husband, three sons and two dogs. In her free time she enjoys anything that get her outdoors as well as teaching cycle and barre classes.
